ESA Executive Elections – 2022/23
Looking for a fun opportunity to get involved with the English undergraduate community while developing leadership skills? We are officially seeking executives for next year’s ESA team. This is a great way to develop new skills, meet new people, form connections in the English department, and have an influence on campus.
The executive team collaborates to plan everything from ice cream cake socials to The Colloquium, supports initiatives like The Garden Statuary, and connects with students, other clubs, and the department. New ideas are more than welcome, and this is a platform that can help you realize them.
We will be accepting nominations until 4:00 PM on Monday, March 28, 2022. Online elections will begin shortly afterward, and results will be announced at our Annual General Meeting on April 8; please watch our social media (@ubc_esa) for more information. As always, if you have any questions, please reach out to us at english.ubc@gmail.com!
Who is eligible? All applicants must be undergraduate UBC students and registered ESA members in the 2021/22 academic year. If you are not yet an ESA member but would like to run for an executive position for 2022/23, you may purchase membership HERE. You will also need to join us on CampusBase to be able to cast votes during the election period.
Why should you apply?
– Hone your leadership, organization, and teamwork skills
– Gain experience planning events – from fun ice cream socials to our annual Colloquium
– Collaborate with the English Department to plan important student events
– Meet like-minded students in the English department and develop lasting friendships!
Do I need any particular skills? Not really. Other than a willingness to work with a team, we love having a wide variety of people collaborating on our projects. Having said that, if you have experience with event management, marketing, social media, graphic design, or are a WordPress wizard, do let us know.
How do I nominate myself? Please fill out this form to apply!
