Get your work out there: submit to the Colloquium!

Deadline for submission has now been extended to Wednesday, December 23, 11:59pm!

The English Students’ Association is officially calling for submissions to our second annual conference, The Colloquium! This conference features presentations from English undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty members. The Colloquium offers the opportunity to share your work and discuss ideas with other students and faculty members in the English Department. The Colloquium will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016, and the submissions deadline is Friday, December 11, 2015, at 11:59 pm. Please see below for more detailed info!

Submission Information

How long should my presentation be?

You’ve got fifteen minutes, with an extra five for set-up.

What should I submit?

A 300-word abstract and the paper on which your presentation is based. If you’re not basing your presentation on a paper, include a presentation outline instead. Please do not include your name or student number on any of these documents you submit.

The Colloquium has no theme, so send us whatever research you’re most passionate about. (Caveat: it has to be your own research).

Who can submit?

Are you a UBC graduate or undergraduate student? Then you can submit!

Where do I send my submission?

Send your documents to the ESA at english.ubc[at]gmail.com. Attach your abstract and your paper or outline, and include your full name, preferred email address, and current level of study in the email body. Please format your subject line as follows: COLLOQUIUM SUBMISSION – [graduate/undergraduate] – [first name last name].

When do I send my submission?

The submission deadline is Wednesday, December 23rd, at 11:59pm.

The Dodson Room in the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre.

Who is presenting?
